NASMM is a professional association of organizations dedicated to helping older adults and their families with the physical and emotional aspects of moving.

Mature Moves is a company that relocates people as well as their possessions. Every day seniors along with their families will struggle with the difficult decision of moving. There are many emotional steps involved in just making the decision to move. A change of this magnitude is not something to taken lightly. The existing home may hold many precious memories. However, that same home may become too big and keeping up with maintenance and repairs may not be something the homeowner is willing to do anymore. There are numerous personal and emotional issues that need to be considering prior to “packing boxes.” For instance: Is now the right time to move? How will my family react to selling the home they grew up in? How do I pass heirlooms to loved ones equally with out causing discontentment? Where is the best place for me to relocate? For many years the major focus by elder support organizations and agencies was in helping senior citizens remain in their original homes. We have become a much more mobile society and now have many more options. Moving for some seniors is a matter of choice, while for others it may be a necessity caused by a disability, health issue, or the sudden death a partner. Once the decision has been made to move the challenge is to coordinate and implement all of the details involved while understanding the many personal and emotional issues that moving can cause.
